What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a procedure that exfoliates your skin and gets rid of dirt and vellus hair, better known as “peach fuzz.” It's different from dermabrasion, where an aesthetician or doctor uses a high-speed, rotating brush to exfoliate the skin. With dermaplaning, they use a scalpel, or a tool called a dermatome.
How is this product different from traditional dermaplaning methods or tools?
Our patented dermaplaning wand resurfaces skin, removing dead cells and facial hair gently and silently unlike straight blade dermaplaning products and is gentle enough to use daily.

How long does a head last for?
We expect a head to last for up to 2 months or longer when used with the Lystra Cushioning Cleanser under typical usage conditions.
The exact life of a head will depend upon your individual circumstances since it is impacted by how often you use it and the condition of your hair and skin. Using your wand with face washes and exfoliators other than the Lystra Cushioning Cleanser can also damage and reduce the life of the heads.
For best results we suggest changing your head every 2 months or more frequently. This helps the wand maintain its optimal hair removal and exfoliation performance and helps it stay clean/hygienic and minimize buildup of dirt and debris.

How do I use the product?
Step 1: Lather
Wet your face and hands really well. Lather one pump of our cleanser over your face, do not rinse off. The cleanser is designed to help the wand glide over your face effortlessly.
Step 2: Exfoliate & Remove
Glide the wand flush to your face using small circular motions. Use a light even pressure, like applying a serum, to exfoliate and lift away hair gently and quietly. Ensure your face stays wet while using the wand and re-wet your face if needed. You may not feel or hear the wand working. It is silent and discreet as it removes hair and exfoliates your skin. Tip: Avoid raised areas of the skin like moles or acne.
Step 3: Glow
When done, rinse your face to reveal glowing, smooth skin. Gentle enough you can choose to use it daily.

How do I get the best results with my dermaplaning wand?
Wet your skin and massage the cleanser into your face, do not rinse off the cleanser before using the Dermaplaning Wand. Use the Dermaplaning Wand lightly, moving in a circular motion where possible. The circles can be 1-2 inches across, lightly and quickly covering your face. Around smaller areas of your face, use smaller circles. On your first use, we would recommend pressing lightly and not going over the same area multiple times so that you can adjust the amount of exfoliation for your skin type when you next use the Dermaplaning Wand. Try to avoid “scrubbing” your face or only moving the Dermaplaning Wand up and down vertically. Avoid using the wand around eye area, eyebrows or on moles or raised skin.
Is the device fully waterproof?
Yes, the wand is waterproof.
Will any part of the device rust?
No, the wand will not rust.
Is this battery operated or plug in device?
The wand is not powered.
What if my wand gets clogged?
Should your wand need deep cleaning:
- Soak in hot soapy water.
- Shake the wand in the water.

Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
No, dermaplaning does not interfere with the follicular structure of the hair, thus having no effect on hair growth whatsoever. Although the myth has been around forever, the truth remains that your hair will grow and look the same after dermaplaning. Facial hair growth in women depends on androgen hormone levels, including testosterone and androstenedione. Dermaplaning can’t change your hair growth, but it can seriously boost your skin’s glow.
